“As a landscape designer, I translate your dreams into reality by creating functional yet beautiful outdoor living space.” - Susan Harrison, APLD
Throughout the design process we develop concept sketches, collect images that illustrate our ideas, and create “mood boards” of colors, materials, and plants for your review. We meet regularly to revise and refine these ideas and ensure we are meeting your goals
Near the end of this process , we often visit a few other gardens which we have designed and built – often showing similar plants, planting techniques, materials, features, or scale relationships we have in mind for your own garden.
Finally, we present to you the completed plans for your review.
A completed design will be made up of a number of plan documents each detailing important aspects of the design.
Site Plan – The site plan will provide a clear overview of the design – showcasing general concepts and themes of the design
Planting Plan – The planting plan shows names and locations of all plants we have planned for the landscape
Hardscaping Plan- This plan may be necessary to show details regarding material, paving pattern, grading, and other information important for installing structural features of the landscape.
Irrigation Plan- The irrigation plan shows a layout for the primary irrigation infrastructure.
Lighting Plan- The lighting plan will detail paths of wiring and fixture locations.

We also offer computer modeling to better represent our designs in three-dimensions. This is quite helpful for seeing relationships of scale, how a design element fits into the landscape and to show carpenters and other craftsman full renderings of our visions (see image above). However, its greatest benefit is often to walk you through the garden that we have planned, long before its completion. We would be happy to show you some examples when we meet.
